Elizabeth Fountain

My name is Elizabeth Fountain; most people call me Liz. I live in Ellensburg, Washington, in the heart of the beautiful and diabolically windy Kittitas Valley. My professional experiences as a counselor, instructor, university administrator, and failed barista contribute to my short and long fiction and creative non-fiction that finds the unintentional humor in everyday life.

My first novel, An Alien’s Guide to World Domination, was published by Champagne Books in April of 2013. I like to say it spins a yarn somewhere between Douglas Adam’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and The Wizard of Oz. It thrilled me to receive a four-star review from Long and Short Reviews: “Elizabeth Fountain has written an unbelievably clever, witty, tongue-in-cheek novel with some truly marvelous characters… Fountain has given us characters we can believe in, even when the events are out of the ordinary to say the least. Old movies, fairy tales, children’s stories, television shows, and more all make cameo appearances in this wild romp through alien activities on Earth.”
I’ve had short stories published in issues of Randomly Accessed Poetics, and the compilation of romance, fantasy, and adventure Shared Whispers. I thoroughly enjoy reading my work to an audience whenever I get the chance.
