Velda Brotherton

?Velda Brotherton writes of romance in the old west with an authenticity that
makes her many historical characters ring true. A knowledge of the rich history of
our country comes through in both her fiction and nonfiction books, as well as in
her writing workshops and speaking engagements.  She just as easily steps out of
the past into contemporary settings to create novels about women with the ability
to conquer life’s difficult challenges. Tough heroines, strong and gentle heroes,
villains to die for, all live in the pages of her novels and books.

A Note From Velda Brotherton

Writing has been a joy to me for three decades. Meeting and corresponding with readers is such a delight that I actually look forward to my email to see who wrote to me. Since I write historical romance, I do a lot of research, which is my second love in the business. Sadly, I'd rather not promote, but am getting better at it.

Nothing pleases me more than to hear a reader tell me, or write a review telling me, how much they enjoyed my books,

Sometimes the voices awaken me in the middle of the night, or hit when I least expect them.. Not only do we hear voices, but we make great liars, cause that's what we do all day every day. Make up stuff. Fiction is my first love, though you'll see that I've written some nonfiction works as well. Regional nonfiction developed while I worked for a newspaper and interviewed so many interesting people. But I recently retired from the newspaper business and turned to fiction exclusively.

Six of my books on Kindle were originally published with Topaz/Penguin, and I'm now in the process of developing them for audio. What fun it's been learning all the intricate steps it takes to present my books to readers. Please let me know if you enjoy my work.
