My Blood Runs Blue is book one of the series. Blue Blood for Life... is the second book, and is currently in the last stages of creation. We expect it to be published fall of 2011.

We turned to look at one another meaning to only say a polite goodbye. We were eye to eye, almost exactly the same height, so close I could smell her without trying. The current was soaring through me and she parted her lips, staring into my eyes.
“Jewels,” she said so quietly I could barely hear her over the noise of the bar. She looked at my lips and I wanted to move closer to her and touch mine to hers. She looked back up into my eyes then and said, “The two stones that are within my soul, sapphires for the dark of the sky and aquamarines for my dreams of the beautiful blue oceans in the heat of the summer.”
I started into her eyes; they were a liquid blue, bright and warm. I couldn’t keep myself from saying, “Calista… you don’t know how much I want to take you in my arms right now and run away with you.”
Her eyes widened then, and a smile crept along her face. “Then let’s run,” she said…
The above is taken from Chapter 4 of My Blood Runs Blue. It is a flashback that Julian has from the moment he met Calista. Who is Calista in the story if she isn't listed as one of the main characters of the book? Guess you will need to read it to find out.

Review:
Kristin is a small town cop, a widow, who wonders if her life will ever be complete. She is assigned to a series of horrific murders, all the victims female, with their throats ripped out.
Julian and Alexander are vampires sent to eliminate Damon, the rogue vampire they know to be behind all the murders in Kristin’s jurisdiction. They know what Kristin does not—she is a half breed vampire, about to come into her mating time, She will also become a victim of Damon, if he finds her before they can protect her.
Astonishingly, Kristin seems to be the reincarnation of Calista who died, with her daughter at Damon’s hands many years ago. Both Julian and Alexander loved her back then, but she chose Julian. Now, Julian and Alex work together, but are no longer friends. When they find Kristin, they know the old rivalry will surface once again. Will she choose Julian again?
Kristin is irresistibly drawn to both vampires, and she gradually learns more about her past, and her future as a vampire. At the exact time that Damon reaches her, trying to kill her again, she simultaneously realizes which man she loves, and remembers her past with Julian. Will history repeat itself?
My Blood Runs Blue is a well written and developed book, with some adventure/mystery, some reincarnation/time travel and some supernatural/vampire aspects. I couldn’t think how all this could possibly fit together without sounding incredibly hokey, but Eaton manages it adeptly. The characters have enough conflicts to deal with, and they do so very well. The goals of Julian and Alex are clearer than those of Kristin, but she manages to catch up to them and make the decisions that need to be made, even knowing how much she will hurt one or the other.
A great paranormal read even if you aren’t normally a paranormal fan. If you are already a fan, you’ll love this one.
