I found the background to this story to be unique and very interesting. I’m always fascinated by how/when couples meet, and this one is so different, because of the engineering backgrounds of the protagonists who all work in the concrete industry.
Most of us never think of concrete as a hotbed of romance and BDSM, but here we are at a concrete convention in Las Vegas. Jackson and Zennifer met two years ago, but he didn’t think she would be able to warm up to his BDSM lifestyle. He broke up with her as a result, but neither has been able to stop thinking about the other. When they meet again at the convention, they decide to explore a burgeoning love and Zen’s willingness to try some aspects of submissiveness.
Zen’s heroine’s journey is epic, and Jackson’s patience and ability to bring out her submissiveness in little baby steps shows his regard and love for her. I liked them both a lot. If you want a course in BDSM 101, then Hot Game is your book.
