Psychologist Kate Holly is back in High Anxiety. Kate’s life is one constant mess. Ruth, a friend of Kate’s asks Kate if she can fill in for her at the anger management class. Kate agrees. Things were going all right till a disagreement broke out and a woman in the class pulls out a gun. Kate wrestles the gun out of the woman’s hand but accidentally fires it.
Kate’s ex-husband and firefighter, Jay informs Kate that he will be leaving town to help out with some fires. Kate desperately wants to tell Jay that she still loves him but finds herself letting him go instead.
Mona comes down with a really bad set of hives. Kate contacts the temp agency for a secretary in the interim. Abigail Davis shows up from the agency. Abigail just may be the perfect secretary that is till one day Abigail shows up looking exactly like Kate. Kate finds herself with a new best friend or a stalker?
High Anxiety is the first Kate Holly novel I have read. It can be enjoyed as a stand alone novel. There was one hilarious moment after another. Like when an argument ensued at the anger management class and Kate accidentally shot a picture of Jesus. Kate was then labeled as an atheist. She can never say that her life isn’t exciting. Kate is like honey for all the crazies. They’re just drawn to her. High Anxiety had me high for more Charlotte Hughes and Kate Holly.
