Directly descended from the very first vampire hunter in the Gardella family, Victoria knows she must continue the lineage so humanity will have protectors against the undead.
While Sebastian Vioget appears to be both the perfect warrior and lover to ensure the Gardella Legacy, Victoria cannot forget Max Pesaro – the former slayer still haunted by the vampire queen Lilith's obsession with him.
But it is Lilith's obsession that may save all of humanity. Demons, enemies of both mortals and the undead, have found their way to earth. To defeat them, vampires and slayers must fight side by side. But Lilith wants Max in return for her cooperation ‐ a small price for the world, but too high a price for Victoria.

As Shadow’s Fade is the last installment in The Gardella Vampire Chronicles.
A lot has happened in two years. Victoria learns that she is next in a long line of Venators otherwise known as vampire hunters. Then she falls for two guys Sebastian Vioget, a strong, sturdy warrior that has admittedly confessed his love to Victoria and Max Pesaro, the tall, dark, brooding vampire slayer. For years now Victoria, Sebastian and Max have fought by each other’s sides both on and off the battle field.
Wayren is the Venator’s mentor is in danger. She is almost killed be a demon in the cemetery. Luckily Victoria, Max and Sebastian and the rest of the cavalry arrive when they did or Wayren would have been killed for sure. Wayren and Victoria come to the realization that the demons are crossing over through the Midiverse Portal in Romania and their main target is Wayren. The only way to close the portal is to seal it using the Rings of Jubai. It just so happens that two of the rings are in the possession of vampire queen Lilith. She is willing to exchange them for Max. How much is Victoria willing to fight for Max?
I have really enjoyed this series. I am sad to see it come to an end but happy to hear that Ms. Gleason will be coming out with a brand new series soon. As the story progressed you got more familiar with Victoria, Sebastian and Max. Everyone has their favorites as to who Victoria should be with and you hoped it was the one you liked. I read As Shadow’s Fade in a matter of a few hours. I would recommend that if you have not read this series yet that you start with the first book as you could jump in the middle but it might be a little hard to follow. Colleen Gleason is one of my favorite paranormal authors.
