Camille is heading home when her sister, Menolly tells Camille there is a demon looking for her. Camille goes and meets the demon. He has a message for her. Camille’s father-in-law is earth side and he is coming for Camille and one of her three husbands, Smokey. This is very bad news. Hyto hates Camille and blames her for his falling out of court.
Courting Darkness is book ten in the Otherworldseries. I would recommend that you read this series in chronological order. There are parts mentioned in this book that happened in the prior novels. I would have to say this book is one of the darker ones I have read. Though like Ms. Galenorn states, it has to be. I agree with her that if it was not dark and grittier then I might not have liked it as much. Having said this, be warned as there is a rape scene that is violent and the torture Camille endures can be brutal. Though, Hyto is a very evil man/dragon. There was a lot of action, which kept the pace of the story moving fast. Camille is growing stronger. I liked seeing Camille and her husbands together. They really care for her. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in this series. I give Courting Darkness four and half stars as it is that good and worth your time and money!
