An eerie tale about an unsolved murder, and an unlikely killer who strikes again and again… When a realtor is murdered at an Open House, her husband becomes the prime suspect. But there is not enough evidence to charge him. Ten years later the case is reopened, with shocking consequences.
Ten yes ago, realtor, Shirley Vicker was at an open house, when someone appeared. Shirley was on the phone. The last comment she made to that person was that she would call them back. She never did. This is because she was murdered. The authorities have never solved the case. Their only suspect was Shirley’s husband but he had an alibi.
Present day
Lieutenant Neil Slater catches Scott Preston of the Morning Herald on the Vicker’s murder case. Scott has been assigned to write about the case. Though he doesn’t know why, since it is a cold case. The more familiar Scott becomes with the case, the more intrigued he becomes. He wants to solve the case. Scott better watch out as the murderer is hot on his trail.
I thought that this book was a nice, cozy quick, mystery story. Scott is a strong character. He has lots of determination and guts. He didn’t let the fact that his latest assignment was a ten year old unsolved murder get him down. In fact, he took it as a challenge. There were some twists and turns in this plot. Though, fans of murder mysteries will like Scarlet Woman by Karen Lewis. If you want to solve this mystery, then you better pick up a copy of this book today before it is too late.
