Robert Vincent is a thirty-eight year old loner who is awkward with women. In fact, he’s never been laid. But the year is 2040 and automaton technology is reaching a new height.
Desperate, Robert orders the latest model, a companion named S.A.R.A.H. (Sexually Active Robot Artificial Human). He expects at least an exciting substitute, an escape from the endless chain of disappointments in his real life.
What he finds instead, when he opens the crate, is far more than he could ever have imagined.

Far into the future, in the year 2040, robots are common, & they can be programmed to be & do almost anything. Robert is a sexually frustrated & lonely bachelor & he decides to buy himself a companion. What he gets is SARAH, which stands for Sexually Active Robot Artificial Human. SARAH is just what Robert needs. She does housework, & caters to his every sexual whim. He’s quite inexperienced, but SARAH has been programmed to be anything he can imagine or read about.
Interestingly, SARAH is programmed to be with either sex, or even more than one sexual partner at a time. Robert’s next door neighbor Cindy ends up being part of their threesome, & we are left with the impression that this triad will become more permanent.
While I like the idea of an artificially intelligent being who will cater to any whim, I thought this story ended before it really began. I think I would have liked to see SARAH get jealous, or Cindy get Jealous, or have some kind of conflict. There is no black moment, no real conflict, no real connection between the characters, except the sexual aspect. I think this could have been so much more.
