Summary Excerpt Comments

While investigating the murder of Brett Myers, homicide detective Alexis Adams and her partner Penelope find a possible connection between Myers’ murder and Grant Copeland, the most powerful man in Tate Valley, California. Alexis has recently moved back to her hometown with one mission in mind: to destroy Grant whom she blames for ruining her mother’s life and recently killing her father.

Hungry for revenge, Alexis jumps at the chance to nail Grant for Brett’s murder. She’s sidetracked when the case leads her to Kevin Reed, a handsome executive who works for Grant’s company. Kevin and Alexis clash when they first meet but it does not take long for them to realize they are incredibly attracted to each other. Unfortunately, Alexis doesn’t trust Kevin and is determined to keep her mind off him and on the case, but the more she pushes Kevin away, the closer they get.

Alexis becomes torn between finding out what happened to Brett, her obsession with getting Grant, and her attraction for a man who seems as deceitful as he is irresistible.
