book 2 of the Passion For Danger series
A kick-ass Yankee cop and her special-ops Cajun guide search the Louisiana swamp for a deadly virus, but succumb to a fever of a very different sort.
Mysterious deaths stalk the bayou. No-nonsense Louisiana State trooper Tara Reeves reluctantly enlists the aid of Marc Lafayette, a too-sexy-for-his-own-good Cajun heartbreaker, to guide her on her search for evidence so she can bring down those responsible. But the source of the deaths is more dangerous than Tara could ever imagine. A foreign terrorist cell, plotting an attack on U.S. soil, is testing a deadly biological weapon in the remote wilderness of the swamp.
But the terrorists aren’t the only ones with secrets…
What Tara doesn’t know is that her sexy guide is part of a covert special ops team sent to destroy the terrorist threat, and Marc is not happy about having to babysit a nosy cop—even one as temptingly beautiful as Tara. But as they search the Louisiana swamp for a deadly virus, they succumb to a fever of a very different sort. Both of them know that love and work don’t mix, a harrowing showdown with the enemy will make their steamy passion boil over…and change their lives forever.

This is the second book of the Passion for Danger series.
Louisiana State trooper Tara Reeves knows there is something suspicious going on in the bayou that is leading to animals dying. Whoever is dumping chemicals or whatever they are up to must be stopped before people begin to get sick and possibly die. She reluctantly hires sexy Cajun Marc Lafayette, an expert in these swamps, to help her find evidence. But there is a lot more going on than Tara imagined; terrorist are involved and Marc is not what he seems…
I loved If Looks Could Chill!! If you read the first book in the series, Shoot to Trill, then you have probably been waiting for this book and you will not be disappointed! Marc Lafayette is sex personified and an absolute bad boy. Tara Reeves may be beautiful but she is also independent, tired of being underestimated by good-ole-boys, and very determined to find evidence to stop whatever is killing animals in the swamps. The last thing Tara wants to find is an obvious heart-throb like Marc and his macho attitude. Marc didn’t expect a spit-fire when he encountered Tara and determined that he needed to head off her investigation before she stumbled into something that would get her killed and boy is he in for a surprise, Tara is a lot tougher than she looks. Plus, sparks ignite every time these two get near each other! In the meantime, there is a terrorist group planning to kill hundreds if not thousands of people with the chemical concoction they are testing in the swamps and they will stop at nothing and let no one stand in their way. Marc and his “friends” have to find the terrorists before they can stop them and Tara is right in the middle of things and clueless. It is a wonderful set up and so well played; there is intrigue inside of intrigue and secret government agencies with secret agendas as well as bad guys in the middle of the good guys. Who can be trusted and who is involved is as much a secret as the mission! I can’t wait to read what will happen in the third book of this marvelous series!
